In Florida, Justin Bieber was arrested on the suspicion that he was driving under the influence.  He took two breath tests and his blood-alcohol content was below .08%. The tests read .11% and .14%, both would be below the general .08% legal limit for drivers. Florida has a .02% limit for drivers under the legal drinking age of 21, Justin is 19. Justin admitted to drinking, smoking marijuana, and taking prescription pills before his arrest, he also failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested early Thursday in Miami Beach because they saw a yellow Lamborghini (which Justin was in) and a red Ferrari racing each other in the residential areas of Miami Beach. This marks the first time that he has been arrested, although he is subject to a felony of egging his California neighbor's house.

In Canada, a young girl age 16 was convicted of distributing child pornography in connection with "sexting", and sending uttering threats out. It was a picture of the girls boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, it all started in November 2012 when the girl found out that her boyfriend was still in contact with his ex. She sent this picture out of spite before thinking about the consequences that come along with it. This is believed to be the first cases in Canada where a teen has been convicted of charges relating pornography and sexting. She is out on bail waiting for sentencing. They say that this should be a wake up call and serve as a warning to teens as to what they text and put on the internet.

drunk driving

This week a 16-year-old, Ethan  Couch, was drunk driving and got into a crash that killed 4 people. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The parents are part to blame, said the police, they never gave the boy limits and instead, gave him everything he wanted and let him do what he wanted to do. The four people were on the side of the road, helping someone with a car that had broken down. His blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit; .24.
He ended up with no jail time, although he could face up to 10 years if he violates the terms of the probation. The victims' parents were shocked with the judges decision and said that he basically got away with murder.

"knockout game"

On Thursday in New York, police were investigating s sucker-punch assault on a 23-year-old. They were doing this to look further into a possible series of attacks known as the "knockout game." People are walking around and punching people, trying to knock them out in one punch. The police have multiple videos of people walking around punch people. They do not know if they know the victims or if it is just random. They are trying to figure it out. Attacks have been reported in at least four states in the last three years. Just in New York there have been 7 attacks. They are afraid that if they keep talking about and continue to investigate this crime, will bring copycats.
